PICNIC SITES

Jastrebac
Jastrebac is a mountain in the southern part of Serbia, situated between Nis, Aleksinac, Krusevac, Blace, and Prokuplje. Prokuplja. It consists of two mountain ranges, Veliki Jastrebac and Mali Jastrebac. Jastrebac is the part of the Rhodopes. Blatisnica river divides this mountain from Kopaonik Mountain. The highest summits are Velika Djulica (1492 m), Pogled (1481 m), Zmajevac (1.313 m), and Bela stena (1.257 m) which make a natural border between Toplica and Pomoravlje regions. Prokuplje –Krusevac road goes across Grebac (via Ribarska Banja Spa), a mountain pass between Veliki and Mali Jastrebac. The mountain is characteristic for its deciduous and conifers forests. A reservation of white birches stands out for its beauty along with numerous water streams, rivers and creeks. Nearby rivers and creeks are home of crayfish and trout, a sign of remarkably clean waters. For all lovers of wild herbs Jastrebac offers: wild garlic, nettles, dandelion, wild strawberry, apple and pears, many edible mushrooms, which prepared in right way taste delicious.

Ribarska Banja Spa
Ribarska Banja, an oasis of fresh mountain air, healthy food and hot springs, is situated on 540 m above the sea level on the slopes of Veliki Jastrebac Mountain. It is sheltered from the winds and sudden temperature changes. Archaeological remains testify that Paleolithic people had done ritual healings at the site of today’s spa. During the 12th century, Ribarska Banja was a gift to Stefan Nemanja for his eighteenth birthday. Rehabilitation Centre “Ribarska Banja“offers 470 beds to its visitors. Rooms are with single and double beds, completely renovated with cable TV, bathroom, small kitchen, and balcony.

Bagdala
The hill above Krusevac, a green ambience with spaces designed for walks and recreational sports. Bagdala is a word of a Turkish origin meaning “a place of a beautiful view”. A restaurant, named after this place, naturally fitted in this green ambience.

Slobodiste
Monumental Park is on the south-west of Krusevac, on the slopes of the Bagdala hill, spreading over 80 ha. The central part of the monument belongs to a concept, implemented by Bogdan Bogdanovic after the conceptual design of Dobrica Cosic.
